Our very first case in 1985 involved a
broncho-pulmonary dysplasia child. Until this time a
ventilator-dependent child had never been discharged to home care in
a rural location, anywhere.
The child had been hospitalized two years prior to discharge and
little hope of release
was available before Universal stepped forward. Our organization
accepted the challenge and developed a care plan that provided the
security and assurance required prior to discharging. Our Universal
team worked successfully with physicians and the family to provide
the child with a secure environment at home.
This Burlington child was the first of many for whom Universal has
opened doors, allowing children to live at home. It is an excellent
example of our philosophy in action. We have a special commitment to
provide the highest quality care. Our plans are individually
designed to meet the requirements of the client, the physician,
third-party payers and others interested in the success of the home
care program. |
